Aperture 2016 Alexander Valley Sonoma County Cabernet Sauvignon
92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - A barrel sample, the deep garnet-purple colored 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon springs forth from the glass with vibrant black cherries, cassis and warm plums scents, backed up by hints of spice box, cedar chest, dark chocolate and tilled soil. Full-bodied and decadently fruited in the mouth, it has a taut line of grainy tannins and wonderful freshness lifting the opulent fruit to a long finish. (LPB) (6/2018)
93 points Jeb Dunnuck - Similar colored, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 50% new French oak) offers slightly more graphite and crushed rock as well as rich black fruits, tobacco, cedar pencil, and earthy aromas and flavors. It's a rich, full-bodied, chewy wine that has good acidity, plenty of tannins, and an outstanding finish. (6/2019)
