Louis Jadot 2016 Nuits Saint Georges Burgundy France
93 points Wine Spectator - Bright cherry, currant and strawberry fruit flavors are backed by a dense matrix of dusty tannins in this compact red. Balanced, lingering with a hint of cumin on the finish. The saturated flavors are intense. Best from 2023 through 2038.
91 points Wine & Spirits - This wine’s fruit has potent clarity, the deep red fruit-skin flavor on the spectrum between black cherry and cranberry. There’s some stemminess and a feral or fennel spice aspect, adding to the meaty, slightly rustic tannins. An intriguing Nuits to decant for rognons, or to cellar.
Winemaker Notes - The Nuits-Saint-Georges A.C. wines are produced on land delimited by the parishes of Nuits-Saint-Georges and Premeaux-Prissey. The soils are basically composed of limestone and marl. A perfect exposure to the east gives the capacity to produce splendid wines.
Maison Louis Jadot produces a deeply colored powerful, full-bodied Nuits-Saint-Georges of intense color. It develops ripe, robust fruit flavors and nuances of oak in the bouquet. It will accompany red wine sauces, marinated or roasted game, medium tasting cheeses. This wine can be kept for 12-15 years in good conditions of temperature and humidity.
