About The Wine: This Pinot Noir explodes with deep red fruit flavors that exceptionally balance the earthiness and delicate spice nuances the Central Coast has become known for. With its smooth texture upon the palate, the lingering finish leaves you dreaming of the next sip. Enjoy with herb crusted chicken, or roasted cedar-plank salmon.
About The Vintage: With great back-to-back vintages, 2013 was every bit as good as 2012 has proven to be. Amidst concerns about another drought year, the rain gauges filled up to about 80% of the yearly average. The growing conditions were very favorable, which resulted in a remarkably similar growing season to the exceptional 2012 vintage. Wines from the 2013 vintage exhibit extremely pure and polished tannins and the acidity will provide longevity, but the supple structure also offers earlier enjoyment.
About The Region: California's Central Coast links 250 miles of coastline vineyard into one vast American Viticulture Area (AVA). Spanning 30 sub-AVA's, the region's 100,000 acres of vineyard share a common thread: the West Coast marine effect, which moderates warm temperatures during the growing season. The Central Coast has quickly become known as one of the best areas in the world outside of Burgundy for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
