World renown as one of the most sought after consultants in the business Michel Rolland has worked with some of the most prolific vineyards and winery principals of our time. Michel has traveled the globe offering his expertise in production for hundreds of wineries in 13 different countries. He is also the owner of several properties in Bordeaux and is involved in joint ventures in South Africa, Spain and Argentina.

Michel has had a love affair with the Napa Valley for decades and has made wine with the likes of Screaming Eagle, Harlan, Sloan, Dalla Valle, Quintessa and the list goes on. MR is Michel’s first brand from Napa and he asked Jean Hoefliger to be his winemaker. They work together on the final blending.

95 points James Suckling

Very cool and seductive nose of slate, graphite and purple fruits. Full body, silky and lively tannins. Lots of tension and intensity. Cool and crafted. Best ever under this label. Drink or hold. (1/2016)

95 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Michel Rolland's enormous experience and obvious knowledge of great viticulture and winemaking has turned out a 300-case cuvée (14.7% natural alcohol) of exceptional wine. Notes of graphite, créme de cassis, blackberry, and a touch of coffee and white chocolate are present in this wine, which offers elegance, full body, beautiful purity, and sweet, well-integrated tannins. As the wine sits in the glass, some blueberry liqueur notes also develop. This plush, full-bodied wine should hit its prime in 4-5 years and last for 20 or more. I suppose it was inevitable that Michel Rolland, who consults with some of Napa Valley’s finest wineries, would produce a wine under his own name. 95+ (RP) (10/2015)
