About The Winery: DeLoach Vineyards specializes in Pinot Noir. The winery was founded by Cecil DeLoach in 1973 in Sonoma’s Russian River Valley, helping to pioneer a region that has become arguably the U.S.’s greatest Pinot Noir zone. In 2004, DeLoach sold the estate to the Boisset family, French négociants (wine merchants) and Burgundy specialists. Scion Jean-Charles Boisset, a native of Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits (i.e. the motherland of Pinot Noir), oversees the estate, working with longtime winemaker Brian Maloney.
About The Wine: Old World winemaking heritage meets Central Coast terroir in this vibrant Pinot Noir. A swirl of the glass releases vibrant red cherry and spice notes; in the mouth it unrolls waves of lush raspberry, orange zest and spice notes, bolstered by fairly dry tannins.
Food Pairings: Some Pinot Noirs are made for sipping; this one needs food to come into its own. The Deloach Vineyards Central Coast Pinot Noir is made for earthy poultry and game dishes. We especially love it with duck, whose richness and savory edge makes a fabulous match for the wine’s sweet fruit and tannic structure.
