The estate is owned and operated estate by the De Santiago family and includes nearly 40 acres of vineyards with 100-year-old vines. The winemaking team is Nicola Tucci and Francisco Javier Gallego. The estate’s signature wine is the Tamaral Reserva, which is made form 45-100 year old vines. About 19,000 bottles are produced annually. The estate also makes several other Tempranillos and a Verdejo.
Think leather and cherries together for Tempranillo wines. This wine looks lighter than it is. It can be medium or full bodied, but its thin-skinned, big grapes, give it a more transparent appearance. It is grown in Spain, Portugal, the U.S. and Australia.
