Maison de Champagne Breton Fils is a grower Champagne, RM, Recoltant-Manipulant. The estate, pioneer of the grower era, is located in Congy, 30 minutes from Epernay between the “Cote des Blanc” and the “Sezannais vineyard”. Reynald and Geraldine Breton, brother and sister are in charge of the estate. In 1945 when their parents decided to produce their own Champagne, they started with 5 Acres, they now have a total of 17. The vines are spread out in Congy, Ferebrianges, Etoges, Sezanne, Mareuil sur Ay, Ay, Passy sur Marne and Sacy sur Marne. The cellar, all hand built by Ange, their father, gather the perfect conditions allowing the bottles to mature serenely, between 3 to 7 years, depending on the cuvees.

BLEND: 1/3 Pinot Noir 1/3 Pinot Meunier 1/3 Chardonnay
VINE AGE: 40 years old
WINEMAKING: By law, grapes are 100% hand harvested. The must is treated right out of the press, then come the “chaptalisation” which result in the first fermentation: alcoholic fermentation. The second fermentation is done to remove major part of the acid malic. Blending is also a important part of the process as it allow to create a consistent quality years after years. The last fermentation, done with the traditional “methode Champenoise”. The bottles are placed inside the cellar to mature between 3 to 7 years depending on the cuvees. Disgorging on the fly, without any preparation of the wine. Dosage will be the final step of the vinification.
ALCOHOL CONTENT: 12,5 % by volume
DESCRIPTION: Light yellow in color with very fine golden bubbles. The nose is floral, with predominance of brandy and candied fruits. Full bodied, structured and graceful, characterized by vitality covering the palate.
