The Don Garrido el Vaquero Estate is one of the largest estates in La Mancha.

Area - Castilla La Mancha (Albacete, Cuenca). Discovering the La Mancha wine region

The La Mancha wine region is located in the region of Castile in Spain. Cellars and vineyards such as Domaine Cinco Estrellas and Domaine Munoz produce mainly red, white and rosé wines. The most planted grape varieties in the La Mancha region are Tempranillo, Merlot and Cabernet-Sauvignon, they are then used in blended or mono-varietal wines. On the nose of La Mancha often reveals types of aromas of orange, apricot or stone fruit and sometimes also aromas of fig, game or almonds.

En bouche of La Mancha is a powerful wine with a lot of tannins present in the mouth. We currently count 640 estates and castles in the La Mancha region, producing 2173 different wines in conventional, organic and biodynamic agriculture. La Mancha wines generally go quite well with beef, pasta or veal dishes.

Plantation - 90,000 hectares are located at an altitude of between 600 and 1,100 meters.

Type of floors - Clay soils with calcareous base and little organic matter. Type of climate: Continental. Smooth humidity.

Date of harvest - From the 2nd half of September.

Harvest - The grapes are harvested by hand and transported to the winery in 18kgs boxes in less than 2 hours, from harvesting to processing.

Processing of grapes - All this process is done in an inert atmosphere, to avoid chemical and enzymatic oxidations, in order to obtain the greatest amount of aroma and freshness.

Vinification - De-stemming, mashing, pressing, decanting and fermentation in tanks of 25,000 liters of stainless steel at temp. Between 25 and 28o C for 15 days.

Microfiltration - Immediately before bottling to ensure the microbiological stability of the wine.

100% TEMPRANILLO - Selection of the Tempranillo variety of highest quality and fame. It belongs to the line of the classics, but has the modern contribution of concentrated fruit. Unmistakable varietal perfume of ripe black fruits and licorice. The palate is sweet, enveloping and tasty, running with fruitiness and fine tannins.


A pleasure for the senses:

Nose is pure wild expression of red forest fruit as blackberries and raspberries with floral notes of violets. This is combined with hints of oak and offers a sweet taste of toffee caramel. On the palate, fresh entry and floral notes makes this experience something unique and wonderful.

Wine Pairing - Pasta With light sauces. Roast (Lamb). River fish. Stews. Soft cheeses.
