VINEYARD CHARACTER The 2015 Hartford Court Russian River Valley Pinot Noir comes from a collection of small vineyards located throughout the Russian River Valley AVA. These vineyards are a combination of our Estate properties such as Fog Dance, Hailey’s Block, MacLean’s Block and Arrendell as well as a handful of our neighbors’ vineyards located in the heart of the Russian River Valley. The sites express the essence of the Russian River Valley by showcasing the best of the sub-regions within our AVA:
Green Valley – Keen acidity, spice, red fruits, blood orange.
Laguna Ridge – Dark berry and cherry aromas and flavors, subtle loamy character.
Sebastopol Hills – Dark color, purple flowers, Indian spices and precise mouth feel. Each sub-region brings complexity and character to the final blend.
TASTING NOTES Aromas of black cherry, allspice, black currant and loam are followed by flavors of wild raspberries, dark berries and a crushed rock minerality. The dense entry is followed by a sweet and juicy mouth feel, supported by acidity, silky tannins and a subtle earthy finish.

WINEMAKING Our winemaking is focused on artisan techniques:
• All hand harvested with hand sorting of both clusters and berries at the winery.
• Pre-fermentation cold soak, indigenous yeast fermentations in small open top fermenters.
• Aged for 11 months in all French oak barrels (29% new).
• Minimal or no fining and filtration.
These gentle handling techniques help promote a silky mouth feel, greater complexity and a fresher fruit focus.
