92 Points - Robert Parker
"Scheduled to be bottled in July, there are roughly 3,000 cases of the 2014 Pinot Noir Sta. Rita Hills, which is slightly up from 2013. It's a juicy, ripe and fruit loaded beauty that has copious strawberry and cherry fruits, spice and crushed-flower characteristics. Like the 2012 and 2013, it should drink nicely for 4-6 years."
A fantastic Pinot from Lea Tensley, wife of Joe Tensley, who makes some of the favorite Syrahs from Santa Barbara. Lea's focus is Pinot and this is one of the best buys of the year.
This wine is a blend of Pinot Noir sourced from three vineyards within the Santa Rita Hills appellation, an area known to have ideal growing conditions for Pinot Noir. The grapes come from the Turner Vineyard, Mormann Vineyard and Buona Terra Vineyard, and each brings its own signature to the blend.
Buona Terra contributes red fruits and fresh acidity while the Turner delivers darker, stone fruit notes and a streak of exotic spice and pepper. Mormann rounds out the blend with a silky texture, long finish and juicy red raspberry and pomegranate. Very food friendly and pairs well with everything, from delicate shellfish dishes to grilled steak.
