A delicate bouquet of violets, candied cherries with a hint of earth fills the nostrils. On the palate this plump wine possesses great elegance and finesse. A very typical burgundy style.

Maison Saint Vivant is a special project from Antoine Gille, with very limited production.

It was written in 1851, that the Gille family had been present in Comblanchien since 1570, making it the oldest family in the village. The estate as it exists today was constructed by Vivant Gille (1877-1938), and expanded by Pierre Gille (born 1947) with his wife Anne-Marie, who together expanded into appellations like Vosne-Romanee, Pommard, Nuits Saint George 1er Cru, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru, and Corton Grand Cru. They are now aided by their children. The philosophy of the Gille family has always been transmission between generations - it is not a job, but a passion guided by tradition and innovation - their wines are a transmission of their souls as winegrowers.

The Gille family places a special reverence to the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes - the unique system of climatic classification in Burgundy allow these varieties to develop one of a kind notes and expressions - and clearly call for ‘reflective & respectful’ agriculture. No hazardous materials are used in cultivation and no products are used in excess, including copper and sulfur. Their goal is to preserve the myriad of yeasts on the berries, which guarantees the expression of the different climates through natural fermentation & little to no human intervention.
