POGGIO LE VOLPI - Founded by Felice Merge in 1996 in Monte Porzio Catone, the winery Poggio le Volpi is one of the wineries in the Lazio region. As the land covers a surface of volcanic soil with predominantly noon orientated vertical trills, the philosophy of Poggio le Volpi is to valorize the ampelographic richness of the land. Combining the values of this tradition with the passion for innovation and the wine making experimentation, Poggio le Volpi Winery is the most interesting wine making company in terms of production.
Grape Variety - 100% Nero Buono
Soil – Mineral rich volcanic soil
Vinification – skin contact fermentation for about 12 – 15 days
Aging – 12 months in French Barrique
Color – Ruby Red
Aroma – very intense on the nose of black ripe fruit, cherries in alcohol, Mediterranean wood, cocoa powder, cloves, iron, graphite, framed in a balsamic sensation.
Tasting Notes - Very smooth and elegant in the mouth, with ripe tannins, well – balanced, great in the aromatic progression, mouth filling and very long in persistence.
