Cakebread Cellars produces its first wine, a 1973 Chardonnay, in 1974, following two years of evening and weekend work on the pondside location.

Jack Cakebread traveled to California in the early 1970s to photograph the Napa Valley for a book. He casually mentioned his goal of one day owning a vineyard to some family friends who had a ranch in Rutherford while he was there. The next day, his friends offered to sell their land, which he loved so much that he acquired it and started Cakebread Cellars soon after.

Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir are the main wines of Cakebread cellars wine along with some other magnificent ones. Just order and enjoy.
