100% Kisi • Qvevri-Fermented • Traditional Amber Wine

A Rare Georgian Treasure – Crafted in Ancient Qvevri

The 8000 Qvevri 2020 Kisi Dry Amber Wine is a striking example of Georgia’s ancestral winemaking heritage, produced from 100% Kisi grapes and aged in traditional qvevri (clay amphorae buried in the ground). This dry amber (skin-contact) wine hails from the Akhmeta PDO in Kakheti, Georgia’s most iconic wine region.

Made in small quantities using millennia-old methods, this wine beautifully showcases the native Kisi grape—a rare and indigenous Georgian varietal celebrated for its aromatic complexity and natural acidity. Fermented and aged on skins, seeds, and stems, it delivers depth, character, and an unmistakable sense of place.

🌍 About Kisi & Kakheti

Kisi is a rare white grape variety native to eastern Georgia, cherished for its natural acidity, floral aromatics, and capacity to evolve complexity through traditional qvevri vinification. Once nearly forgotten, Kisi has been experiencing a resurgence thanks to winemakers like 8000 Qvevri who champion indigenous Georgian varietals.

The Kakheti region, particularly the Akhmeta PDO, is one of Georgia’s most significant and ancient winegrowing areas. Its warm days, cool nights, and mineral-rich soils—combined with traditional qvevri winemaking—make it an ideal environment for expressive amber wines with authenticity and soul.
