Pieve di Campoli 2020 Cortine Chianti Classico DOCG – Tuscany, Italy
A soulful expression of classic Sangiovese from the hills of Chianti Classico.
The 2020 Pieve di Campoli “Cortine” Chianti Classico DOCG is a beautifully handcrafted red that captures the pure spirit of Tuscany’s rolling vineyards and centuries-old winemaking heritage. Produced by the Azienda Agraria Pieve di Campoli, an estate rooted in the rich agricultural traditions of the Archdiocese of Florence, this wine unites authenticity, craftsmanship, and purpose.
From hillside vineyards in the Barberino Tavarnelle commune—planted between 300 and 370 meters above sea level—this blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Canaiolo and Colorino thrives in mineral-rich galestro and limestone soils. The grapes are hand-harvested in mid-October and fermented in traditional concrete vats under temperature control, followed by 12 months of aging in second-passage French oak barriques and an additional three months in bottle. The result is a wine that balances the classic intensity of Chianti with modern finesse.
Tasting Notes
In the glass, the wine shows a brilliant ruby-red hue with delicate garnet highlights. The nose opens with layers of ripe red cherry, wild strawberry, violet, and dried rose, evolving into notes of tobacco leaf, warm spice, and a hint of Tuscan earth. Subtle aromas of leather, cedar, and wild herbs recall the hillsides of Chianti after a summer rain.
On the palate, the Cortine Chianti Classico is medium- to full-bodied, showing both generosity and balance. Juicy red fruit and sweet spice glide across the tongue, supported by silky tannins and lively acidity that bring energy and freshness. Flavors of ripe plum, pomegranate, and crushed flowers are followed by savory hints of sage, black tea, and dried oregano, finishing long, mineral-driven, and elegant.
Food Pairing
A versatile and food-friendly wine, this Chianti Classico pairs effortlessly with classic Italian dishes such as pasta Bolognese, mushroom risotto, grilled lamb chops, or roasted pork loin. Its bright acidity and supple tannins also complement aged cheeses like Pecorino Toscano and Parmigiano-Reggiano.
Serve slightly below room temperature (16–18 °C / 60–64 °F) to highlight its freshness and balance.
Winemaking & Philosophy

Each bottle reflects a partnership between nature, faith, and craftsmanship, transforming the bounty of the earth into a wine full of life, purity, and purpose.
