From one of the steepest hillside vineyards at the top of Chalk Hill Road in the southeast corner of Alexander Valley, Del Rio Vineyard creates intense, fruit-driven cabernet.
Aperture's expression of this site shows defined blue fruit notes with a subtle layer of delicate earth and stone characteristics. Gaining in concentration and complexity this wine is held with well-structured tannins and an underlying elegance. 100% cabernet sauvignon, this distinctive wine carries with it a profound sense of place.
“A powerful, inward, concentrated cabernet sauvignon that offers lots of blackcurrants, scorched earth, toasted spice, and graphite aromas and flavors. Hats off to winemaker Jesse Katz for a smoking good wine!” -Jeb Dunnuck
