Jean-Luc Colombo 2017 Terres Brulees Cornas Côtes du Rhône France
95 Points Wine Enthusiast - Appropriate to this wine’s name, a vein of singed earth trails from nose to finish, mingling into delicate notes of vanilla, anise and black pepper. Penetrating flavors of preserved black cherry and plum are plump but fresh, edged by lifted acidity and fine, persistent tannins. More approachable in youth than Colombo’s other 2017 Cornas, it can be enjoyed now through 2035.
93 Points Wine Spectator
A deep ruby-black color with purple hints. On the nose, black current, dark cherries and blackberries, with spices, licorice and cocoa. A very rich mouthfeel with flavors of black fruit, jam, vanilla, spice and mineral notes.
