The estate's vineyard was built by Bertrand de Goth, who became Pope Clément V in 1305, and whose name was afterward given to the Château. In 1252, the first harvest took occurred, laying the groundwork for a rich cultural history.

The vineyard spans 32.5 hectares, with 30 hectares planted with 60 percent Cabernet Sauvignon and 40 percent Merlot grape varietals. The remaining plots are planted with white varieties such as Sauvignon blanc, Sémillon, and Muscadelle, with 45 percent Sauvignon blanc, 45 percent Sémillon, and 10 percent Muscadelle.
