Only the best clones of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot were used to plant Jason's Vineyard in 1996. On the North Fork, Jason's Vineyard was the first to use thick vine spacing. This approach, which has never been seen before at Jason's Vineyard, involves vines being planted closer together than at many other nearby vineyards.
Jayson Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep purple color in the glass and an aromatic character of powerful floral notes, juicy blackberry, white pepper, and undertones of leather and vanilla, as well as classic varietal expression. Sweet plum, raspberry, and juicy blueberry flavors are complemented by traces of cinnamon stick and brown sugar on the dense, creamy tongue. Over the long, velvety finish, a hint of earth adds complexity.
