Old Bridge 2015 Estate Reserve Areni Noir – Library Release (Arpa Valley, Vayots Dzor, Armenia)
We are thrilled to announce a small, highly limited allocation of the Old Bridge 2015 Estate Reserve Areni Noir — a rare library release from one of Armenia’s most revered producers. This vintage represents a beautifully aged expression of the iconic Areni Noir grape, showing just how gracefully Old Bridge wines evolve over time.
As Stepan Baghdassarian notes, “Old Bridge Estate Areni Reserves are not only among our top-selling Armenian wines — they are among the most age-worthy red wines we have ever carried.”
Tasting Notes
The 2015 Old Bridge Estate Reserve Areni Noir reveals the majestic transformation of Areni with age. Deep garnet in color with soft brick hues at the rim, it opens with a rich, mature bouquet of black cherry compote, dried fig, cedar, and tobacco leaf, supported by savory notes of truffle, leather, and dark chocolate.
On the palate, the wine is silky and refined, with seamlessly integrated tannins and a layered profile of ripe plum, espresso, and spice box, finishing with a long, velvety, and mineral-tinged finish. The balance of freshness and tertiary complexity makes this wine a testament to Armenia’s ability to produce truly cellar-worthy reds.
This is a wine of quiet power and timeless beauty, now entering its peak drinking window yet capable of aging gracefully for another decade.
Winemaking & Provenance
Crafted from 100% Areni Noir grown in Old Bridge’s high-altitude Arpa Valley estate vineyards (1,200–1,250 m), the 2015 vintage reflects both the ancient terroir of Vayots Dzor and the modern precision of the estate’s winemaking team.
Following hand harvesting and manual sorting, the wine underwent fermentation in stainless steel at 25–28°C before maturing 24 months in 350L Caucasian oak barrels, followed by extended bottle aging in the Old Bridge cellar — a rare practice that enhances depth, texture, and aromatic harmony.
Now released in limited quantities directly from the estate’s library, each bottle embodies nearly a decade of patient evolution under ideal conditions.
