This is a tour de force in Red Bordeaux, closing in on perfection with an impressive wealth of dark plum and black fruit on an expressive nose. Forthright and suave on the attack, where fruit, flowers and spice are interwoven with ripe, fluid tannins. An opulent and elegant pleasure. James Suckling

Pape Clement harvested its grapes under excellent weather conditions, allowing the estate to obtain grapes with luscious fruit aromas and ripe, full tannins. The blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc of Pape Clément 2015 created a wine displaying an ink-like color. The wine is dense not only in hue but also in aromatic expression. Black fruits dominate, mingling bing cherries and crushed blackberries against a backdrop of black pepper and hints of cedar. On the palate, the wine develops gradually showing a neat structure, with soft if not creamy tannins. The tannic texture is well structured and the whole is supported by firm acidity. The retro-olfaction shows hints of liquorice giving an extra touch of freshness to this Pessac-Léognan. A Pape Clement playing with concentration and finesse.
