Alain Voge is a well-known Cornas figure. When Alain took over his father's smallholding in the late 1950s, he transformed it from polyculture to a wine-focused operation.

The Domaine now covers over 12 hectares, with eight in Cornas and four in St Péray. The wines are vinified traditionally, with the grapes mostly de-stemmed and oak influence reduced to a minimum in the reds, and are grown organically and biodynamically. Despite the Northern Rhône's growing popularity and price growth, these wines still represent excellent value.

Alain Voge Cornas Vieilles Vigne has medium to full-bodied, concentrated, focused character, this wine offers significant levels of graphite, black and blue fruits, licorice, and scorched earth. The tannin is chocolate, the juice is extremely beautiful with excellent freshness on the finish, and it's the most concentrated and closed of them all. With overtones of leather, pepper, and distinct, subtle tannins, the Vieilles Vignes is an excellent complement for the game in general, and especially hare. It will benefit from 2-3 years of cellaring and will last for a decade or two.
