The Poggio Bonelli 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG is a classic, structured expression of Sangiovese from one of Tuscany’s most respected subzones—Castelnuovo Berardenga, on the southern edge of Chianti Classico.

Produced from a selection of the estate’s best grapes, this Riserva reflects both the power and elegance of the 2016 vintage, widely regarded as one of the finest in Chianti Classico in recent years.

In the glass, the wine shows a deep ruby color and opens with a layered bouquet of ripe cherry, blackberry, cinnamon, clove, and floral notes, followed by hints of earth, leather, and Mediterranean herbs. The palate is dry, full-bodied, and structured, with firm yet refined tannins balanced by vibrant acidity—a hallmark of great Sangiovese.

Aged for over 21 months in French oak and further refined in bottle, this Riserva offers both immediate appeal and the ability to evolve gracefully over time.
