Chateau Montrose wine is famed for being full-bodied Bordeaux wine. However, that was not the property's original reputation. In fact, before producing Bordeaux wine, the estate was known for its hunting grounds.
For generations, Montrose has been producing some of Bordeaux's finest wines. Indeed, the Bouygues brothers were inspired to purchase the estate after drinking the celebrated 1989 Chateau Montrose. Thomas Bouygues remarked that the wine was so wonderful that he would buy the famed estate if he ever had the opportunity. That's exactly what happened in 2006.
At its best, Chateau Montrose wine is strong, sophisticated, masculine, elegant, and complex. The fruit has a richness to it that fills and coats your mouth. However, the wines are solid and tannic.
