In this Tuscan powerhouse category, Le Ragnaie is noted for its beautiful, terroir-driven wines that stand out. They are mastered in making Brunello wines.
All four Brunello wines are fermented in concrete without the use of chosen yeast, then aged for three years in big Slavonian oak Botti after a long maceration of up to 90 days. In the vineyards and cellar, all wines are bottled unfiltered and certified organic.
The color is a brilliant red-ruby. Red cherry, coffee, herbs, and sweet spices are all suggestions for the nose. Then, with great acid-tannin balance and sweet spices confusing the luscious red cherry fruit aromas, it's both graceful and strong. Long and youthfully chewy on the finish, with above-average depth and multilayered complexity, this is one of the vintage's best classical Brunellos.
