While grapes of this appellation can be grown in any of the villages of the Côte de Beaune except Aloxe-Corton, Beaune, Pommard and Volnay, the Jadot cuvée is mainly from Chorey-lès-Beaune and Ladoix. The Pinot Noir grapes are destemmed and fermented in open tanks for 25 to 33 days to extract color, tannin and aromas. The wine is then barrel aged for about 16 months before bottling.

HARVEST NOTE - 2017 was a very warm vintage without any major difficulties. Production volumes were finally restored to normal levels.

TASTING NOTE - Light-bodied red with hints of candied strawberry and cherry, plus dusty tannins and hints of spice at the finish.

FOOD PAIRING - Casual cuisine such as BBQ, sautéed vegetables, or charcouterie.

VINEYARD DETAILS - CÔTE DE BEAUNE VILLAGE WINES - In the Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet, Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet are the three most famous white wine villages. Chassagne-Montrachet, reputed for its great Grands Crus, produces village whites that are the most robust in style. Meursault is often considered masculine in style compared to Puligny-Montrachet, which is charming, elegant and feminine. For red wine, Pommard is the most recognized village of the Côte de Beaune and often considered the most masculine red wine of the Côte. Other Louis Jadot village wines from the Côte de Beaune are: Ladoix (white) Pernand-Vergelesses (red and white) Aloxe-Corton (red) Chorey-lès-Beaune (red) Savigny-lès-Beaune (red and white) Beaune (red and white) Pommard (red) Volnay (red) Auxey-Duresses (red and white) Saint-Aubin (red and white) Santenay (red and white) Côte de Beaune Villages (white).

PINOT NOIR - In France, makes a silky, deceptively powerful wine of elegant, complex aromas and subtle, red fruit flavors, with earthy, floral, mushroom and mineral notes. In California, shows ripe, sweet characters.

"My aim is to craft enchanting wines that taste of the great diversity of Burgundy." – FREDERIC BARNIER, WINEMAKER
