“This is the first Bearwallow to include our new plantings of low-vigor, heritage selections of Pinot Noir and we feel it is the best Bearwallow yet. The supple red-fruited entry finishes with Bearwallow's trademark pronounced spice. It is absolutely delicious now and we fully expect it to always drink well.”
About The Vineyard:
While driving northwest on Hwy 128 through the "Deep End" of Anderson Valley, it is difficult not to be struck by the majesty of Bearwallow Vineyard. As you round the bend, the sight of the steep vineyard-covered hills rising above the redwoods is quite spectacular. After tasting many examples of the elegant, mineral driven Pinot Noir that these "Deep End" hills can produce, Rhys Vineyards is extremely fortunate that they were able to acquire such a prime site in 2008.
93 Points – The Wine Advocate “The 2013 Pinot Noir Bearwallow Vineyard is as sexy and fruit driven as the wines from this estate get. Giving up tons of strawberries, blueberries, crushed violets and assorted floral notes, it's upfront and layered on the palate, with plenty of fruit, good concentration and a big finish.”
