Famiglia Cotarella 2017 Brunello di Montalcino – Tuscany, Italy
100% Sangiovese
The Famiglia Cotarella 2017 Brunello di Montalcino is a beautifully crafted expression of Sangiovese from one of Tuscany’s most respected winemaking families. Deep ruby red in color, this Brunello immediately impresses with its complexity and aromatic depth—showing layers of ripe red fruit, spice, aromatic herbs, dried flowers, and a touch of ginger.
On the palate, the wine is both silky and vibrant, displaying exceptional tannin balance and impressive sapidity. Concentrated yet surprisingly fresh for the warm 2017 vintage, it reveals excellent depth, purity, and a long, persistent finish that hints at significant aging potential.
This release marks an exciting chapter for the estate, representing one of the earliest vintages fully overseen by the Cotarella family—one of Italy’s most influential dynasties in modern winemaking.

About Famiglia Cotarella
For three generations, Famiglia Cotarella has shaped Italian winemaking—from early work preserving indigenous varieties in Umbria and Lazio to producing internationally acclaimed wines across central Italy. In 2017, the third generation—Dominga, Marta, and Enrica—took full leadership of the estate, rebranding from Falesco to Famiglia Cotarella and expanding their focus to include refined Brunello di Montalcino. This 2017 release is among the first under their direct stewardship.
